Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson Spoke Out On Sister’s Cancer Diagnosis

The reality television sister shared a heartfelt post soon after news broke of her sister’s stage 4 adrenal carcinoma diagnosis.

The young star wrote in an Instagram story with a screenshot of the TMZ article that broke the news, stating:

“By saying that you never really know what someone is going through at home, I mean this. No matter how well-known they may be.”

“Yes, I’m famous, but normal stuff still happens to me and my family, and you all need to understand that as soon as possible,” added Alana.

On the 2019 TLC series Toddlers & Tiaras, Anna and her teenage sister made an appearance alongside their mother, Mama June Shannon, 43.

For the 2012 spinoff Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, they were joined by their siblings Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 26, and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, 23.

TMZ reported that the cancer was found in Anna’s liver, kidney and lung after a series of tests following her complaint about stomach aches.

According to reports, the family is said to be very hopeful that the mother of two (Anna) will pull through.

She has had four rounds of chemotherapy to zap the “very aggressive” cancer since then, but despite the devastating diagnosis, she’s “doing pretty good” and “handling” it well.

Her mother, Mama June Shannon, and her other sisters, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, have shared updates on her condition and expressed their support for her.

In 2012, Anna gave birth to her daughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth. Two years after the birth of her daughter, Anna Cardwell married her longtime love, Michael Cardwell, in 2014.

The couple legally parted ways in 2017 after welcoming another daughter named Kylee Madison in 2015.

As per the last update, Anna is in a relationship with Eldridge Toney. She made their Instagram relationship official in April 2019.
