Jamie Raskin Battled With Cancer, But Is He Sick Now? Illness And Health Update

Is Jamie Raskin Sick? American Democrat Jamie Raskin recently announced his diagnosis with the type of lymphoma, making viewers keen about his health and illness.

Congressman Jamie Raskin proudly represents Maryland’s 8th Congressional District U.S. House of Representatives. He was sworn into his fourth Term on January 6, 2023.

The Democratic Caucus chooses Jamie in the 118th Congress as the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.

Jamie is presently in his fourth term serving on the Oversight Committee and served three terms on the House Judiciary Committee and the Committee on House Administration.

The congressman is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School and a former Harvard Law Review editor.

Is Jamie Raskin Battling Cancer?

On January 5, 2023, Jamie revealed the optimistic diagnosis of his Cancer treatment and has “gotten lots of support” from Democratic and Republican lawmakers.

Jamie, a House Democrat and prominent member of the January 6 Committee, in a statement announced after several days of tests, the congressman learned that his illness is a curable form of Cancer.

Earlier in 2010, the congressman faced a Cancer diagnosis after he previously fought colorectal Cancer.

In addition to his illness, Jamie is trending these days after he led the impeachment manager for the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, the former president. 

In addition, the congressman served two terms on the Rules Committee and the Coronavirus Select Subcommittee and was Selected Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol. 

Besides his political career, Jamie authored books, including the Washington Post best-seller Overruling Democracy: The Supreme Court versus the American People. His highly-acclaimed books were, We the Students: Supreme Court Cases For and About America’s Students and Unthinkable: Trauma, Truth and the Trials of American Democracy, which was ranked New York Times #1 best-seller.

Jamie Raskin Illness: Is He Sick Now?

Maryland Congressman Jamie has been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, a severe but curable form of Cancer.

According to CNN, a December statement claimed he initiated a chemo-immunotherapy course on an outpatient basis at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Med Star Georgetown University Hospital.

Jamie, who will be the top Democrat on the House oversight and reform committee in the next Congress, expects to be able to work through his outpatient treatment at a Washington-area hospital.

The congressman added that he expects to continue to work as he undergoes treatment: “he plans to get through this and keep making progress every day in Congress for American democracy.”

The Congreaamsn, on his website, wrote, “Prognosis for most people in his situation is excellent after four months of treatment.”

Jamie’s Cancer bounced back two years after his 25-year-old son, Tommy, committed suicide on December 31, 2020.

Jamie Raskin Health Update

Despite suffering from Cancer, Jamie claims to be tough and in good energy; he added he was losing about 40 or 50 hairs a day due to Chemoradiation therapy. 

The House Oversight Committee member, in an interview with Tapper, revealed even doctors are very optimistic and the chemo is going to get the Cancer.

Jamie’s prognosis for most people is excellent after four months of treatment.

American Cancer Society claims diffuse giant B cell lymphoma snowballs and is frequently treated with chemotherapy through a four-drug regimen administered in cycles three weeks apart.
