Katharina Rothman Killed In Michael Porter Jr Brother Car Accident: Coban Porter Arrest and Charge

Coban Porter is best recognized for being the younger brother of NBA Draft hopeful Michael Porter Jr.

On Monday, the victim was identified as Katharina Rothman, 42, by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. DPD stated that a male passenger in her car was also seriously injured in the incident.

Katharina Rothman was identified as the victim of a fatal crash near the intersection of South University Boulevard and Buchtel Boulevard shortly before 2 am. According to authorities, another person who has not yet been recognized was critically injured.

“Lives are lost, and lives are permanently affected due to this,” said Denver Police Sgt. Mike Farr.

Porter was traveling westbound on Buchtel Boulevard at an estimated speed of 50 mph when he ran a red light at South University Boulevard, according to the probable cause statement. That’s when Porter collided with Rothman’s car.

Porter had bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred and muttering speech, and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, according to Police. Police also observed he was wearing a “Bud Light” paper bracelet.

Online court records show that Porter was released on a $2,000 bond and is facing vehicular homicide and reckless driving charges.

Porter had a blood sample drawn, and the results are still pending.

Coban Porter Arrest and Charges Explored

According to Denver Police spokesperson Kurt Barnes, Coban Porter, 21, was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide and careless driving. At 1:54 am, a two-car collision occurred. One motorist perished at the scene, according to officials.

A two-vehicle crash at South University and Buchtel Boulevard was reported around 1:54 am. Sunday, the driver was declared dead on the scene.

According to the Nuggets, Michael Porter Jr. was not involved in the accident. Due to personal issues, he could not participate in Sunday’s 101-99 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Porter was not involved in the incident, according to a Nuggets spokesperson. He is categorized as “questionable” for Tuesday’s game against New Orleans.

Porter was released on $2,000 bail and is charged with vehicular murder, according to online court records.

The probe is still going on. Due to “personal circumstances,” Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. was ruled out of Sunday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
