On December 27, 2023, the local police found Lee Sun Kyun dead in the road parking lot. At the time of death, the actor was just 48.

Further, the autopsy report determined the cause of death to be carbon monoxide poisoning.

Supporting the report, a charcoal briquette was also found in the passenger seat.

Meanwhile, TV Chosun exclusively reported the death of Lee after further confirmation from the local police.

After graduating from the Korean National University of Arts, Lee Sun Kyun began his career in musical theater in the late 1990s. 

With his captivating performances, Lee soon gained recognition for his work on the stage and started working in television dramas.

Eventually, his breakthrough came with the television series My Sweetheart, My Darling in 2005, where he played the lead role.
