Mesut Ozil Controversy has again taken the cover of the whole world as the former German footballer is known to dwell on controversial grounds.

Born and reared in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Ozil began his senior club career with Schalke 04 before turning 19 and joining Werder Bremen in 2008. His performances resulted in a move to Real Madrid in 2010 after he won the DFB-Pokal in his first season. There, he contributed to the team’s La Liga championship.

When he joined Arsenal in a deal that might have cost up to £42.5 million (€50 million), Mesut Ozil set a club record for association football transfers at the time, making him the most expensive German Player in history. 

He recorded the second-most assists ever while winning three FA Cups in England and aiding Arsenal in ending their nine-year trophy drought.

As the former German footballer is known for dwelling on contentious issues, controversy has once again captured the attention of the entire world.

Despite being a brilliant football player, Ozil was never without his fair share of controversy.

He was firm with his outspoken opinions and fear of failing, and Mesut Ozil Controversy followed him everywhere he went.

After Olivier Giroud of France scored the goal (52) that broke Thierry Henry’s record for France, former Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil tweeted a humorous message and gif.

Giroud curled his left foot and struck Mbappe’s pass, causing the ball to bounce and chip over the advancing goalkeeper.

Ozil, a professional footballer from Germany, is the recipient of the most German Player of the Year honors. 

At age 20, he made his senior debut for the German national team in 2009 and participated in five critical competitions. He led the assist charts at the UEFA Euro 2012 and the FIFA World Cup 2010, helping Germany twice to the semifinals.

Ozil, who assisted Germany in winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup, announced his retirement from international play in 2018, blaming the German Football Association (DFB) and German media for their alleged treatment of him unfairly.

Mesut Ozil Complained About Discrimination In German Squad

Mesut Ozil has declared his impending retirement from international football, which he attributes to unfair prejudice resulting from his meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdoan, the president of Turkey, in May.

The German team that was eliminated from the World Cup in Russia at the group stage included Ozil, who received harsh criticism for his play and his meeting with Erdoan, who has been charged with violating human rights and has been vocal against German politics.

The “racist treatment” Ozil has received has been called “disgraceful,” and the anti-discrimination organization Kicks It Out has offered its support. 

In a statement, everyone involved in football should be motivated by his case to consider how the sport handles players of mixed ancestry. It stated, “Those who have prompted him to consider taking an international retirement should be ashamed of themselves.”
