He made his directing debut with the Akkineni Nageswara Rao-starring film Aatma Gowravam. However, his full filmmaking prowess flowered with a subsequent film called Siri Siri Muvva.

Swathi Muthyam was India’s official entry to the Oscars in 1986. The Government of India awarded Viswanath the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian film.

He will be awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema, at the 64th National Film Awards.

K Viswanath Kids Mourns The Death Of Their Father

Due to age-related problems, the renowned actor-director K Vishwanath died late Thursday in a Hyderabad hospital. He was 92.

He received the 48th laureate of the Dadasaheb Phalke award, the highest distinction in Indian cinema, after becoming a recognized name in Telugu cinema and Tamil and Hindi films. He was given the prize for the year 2016.

The film industry used celebrities’ and families’ social media to express grief at Viswanath’s passing.

“Viswanath was an outstanding film director who picked an everyday narrative and made it into a great movie on the silver screen with his exceptional talent,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy offered his condolences on the filmmaker’s demise in a tweet.

“Vishwanath reflects Telugu culture and Indian arts. His films have garnered unprecedented recognition in the Telugu cinema industry. “As an artist, he will live on in the hearts of Telugu people forever,” Reddy remarked.
