He had six receptions for 63 yards in 15 games as a rookie for a team with a strong receiving corps.

Gage scored his first receiving touchdown as a pro against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13 of the 2019 Campaign.

Buccaneers’ Russell Gage Was Carted Off the Field

With less than three minutes left in the game, Gage, 26, was hurt in a collision with Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson.

A strong blow to the neck caused Gage to struggle to stand up, which ESPN analysts called “a sobering moment.”

Tom Brady, the quarterback for the Buccaneers, stared at his wide receiver after the event, appearing frightened.

And while sports trainers treated Gage, players from both teams knelt in prayer.

The wide receiver was carried off the field and placed on a backboard with spinal protection.

Later, according to Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, Gage was admitted to a nearby hospital with a concussion.

They’re also examining him for any possible neck damage, according to Bowles.

“When he was lying down, his fingers were moving. I’m not sure about the others, “Bowles remarked on Gage’s limb movements.
