Then, a week after being named, he attacked Mr. Priebus in discussion with a reporter, branding him a “paranoid schizophrenic.”

According to reports, his wife, Deidre Ball, reportedly applied for divorce during the same week. According to The New York Post, she was tired of his “naked political ambition.”

As he traveled with Mr. Trump on Air Force One, he also missed the birth of his son on July 24. This trip was well documented on his Twitter page, where he shared five pictures, including one with the president, and expressed how “humbled and blessed” he felt.

The 53-year-old Mr. Scaramucci has railed against government “leakers” for most of his ten days on the job.

Ironically, the New York Times, one of the first U.S. news organizations to report on his firing, depended on three unnamed sources “close to the decision” to break the story.

Why Was He Fired?

After only a few days on the job, Scaramucci caused a stir by criticizing Trump Administration officials in a conversation he thought was off the record with Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker. And after that controversy, he was fired.

Scaramucci prophesied that Trump would win “40+ states in 2020” in July of this year. Still, soon after, he began to rebuke Trump, calling his attacks on women of color “racist and unacceptable.”

Scaramucci declared in August 2019 that he no longer backed Trump’s bid for reelection. Trump’s behavior during his visits to grieving El Paso and Dayton following mass shootings was cited by Scaramucci.

During Trump’s visit to a grieving El Paso, he attacked his Democratic rivals, boasted about the size of his rally crowds, and was photographed giving the “thumbs-up” sign next to a baby who had been left orphaned in the shooting.

Trump was “actually dissembling a little bit, and he’s sounding more nonsensical,” according to Scaramucci, who also called Trump’s visit a “catastrophe.”
