BBC reported that as the sentences were read aloud, there was a single audible gasp from the audience, and the defendants hunched in their seats and fixed their eyes forward.

The killing was described as “savage and prolonged” with a “sadistic motivation” by the court.

The court heard testimony that Boden, 30, and Marsden, 22, who were found guilty of murder after a trial, partnered to keep experts away from Finley to hide their wrongdoings.

Their actions include canceling a scheduled visit with a health visitor two days before Finley’s passing, informing social services that they showed up unexpectedly that Finley might have Covid-19, and refusing to let them inside.

The judge referred to them as “persuasive and accomplished liars” who prevented Finley from receiving life-saving medical attention.

Finley Boden Death And Injuries

Ten months old Finley Boden died in December 2020. His injuries were 57 broken bones, two burns on his left hand, and 71 bruises.

The burn marks on his hand were most likely from a cigarette lighter flame and a hot, flat surface.

According to testimony in court, Finley’s bone fractures contributed to pneumonia and sepsis that ultimately claimed his precious life.

Cannabis was discovered in Finley’s blood after toxicology tests, proving that he must have ingested it 24 hours before passing.

The toddler’s injuries, including 46 rib fractures and 12 other bone fractures in his legs, pelvis, and right arm, were inflicted between 4 and 22 December 2020.

Paramedics responded to a call and reached Finely Boden’s parents’ filthy, cluttered terrace house on Holland Road, Old Whittington. Finley suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Christmas day.

However, it was too late. Although the little boy was taken to hospital, he died soon after.

It has been reported that Finley lost his life a few weeks (39 days) after he was placed back into his parents’ care.

Furthermore, while addressing the little boy’s multiple injuries, the judge said that the pair worked together and made the adorable baby subject of unimaginable cruelty.

No one in the neighborhood heard Finley cry or scream in pain. Referring to the situation, the judge added, “You both hurt him, with one of you breaking his bones and the other holding his mouth shut to keep him silent.”
