Lance Blanks Playing Career Details

Lance Blanks was born in Del Rio, Texas. The skilled athlete played professionally with the NBA teams, such as Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons.

The 1985 Mr. Basketball winner for the state of Texas started his undergraduate career at Virginia before transferring to the Longhorns for his last two years of eligibility.

Over the 1988 and 1989 seasons, Blanks averaged 20 points, five rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for the Longhorns. In 2007, he was eventually inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor.

After his time in Austin, the former point guard played three NBA seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons. Moreover, he participated in the CBA, the German Bundesliga and played professionally in Hungary and Cyprus. in Europe.
