Talking about Abreu’s family, she was born and raised in 1989 in her hometown of Passaic, New Jersey by her parents who were immigrants from the Dominican.

In 1980, the weather reporter’s father immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic. A few years later, her mother and her elder siblings followed him to America.

Abreu’s parents chose to live in northern New Jersey, where a two-bedroom apartment then cost $150 a month to rent.

Like many other Dominicans in this nation, her dad established a bodega called City Food Market. Likewise, her mother left to work for Kenneth Kole in maintenance.

Llarisa’s parents are proud of their daughter as she has stood up on her feet and has become a successful Meteorologist.
