It has been said that Omid Scobie is a “mouthpiece” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, despite his claims to be a journalist “trying to do my job”.

The memoir ‘Finding Freedom,’ about the Sussexes and their break from the Royal Family, was co-written by the royal correspondent before.

His most recent book, Endgame, has already sparked controversy as Dutch publishers have apparently removed copies after naming the prince who “questioned” Archie’s skin tone in the translation.

Sky News examines the royal biographer’s background and methods for obtaining exclusive information.

Ethnicity And Origin Of Omid Scobie

Born in Wales in 1980 or 1981, Scobie grew up in Oxford with his younger brother and parents, a British marketing director father and a social worker mother who was “Persian” (born in Iran).

After attending Magdalen College School, he enrolled at Oxford’s Cherwell School’s sixth form. He attended the London College of Communication to study journalism.

Scobie’s parents, whose mother works in child welfare and whose father owns a marketing company, must have found it pretty eye-opening (he prefers not to provide their names).

The eldest of two brothers, Scobie grew up in Oxford, attending Magdalen College School before moving on to Cherwell, a state school he described as “lovely” and where he still keeps in touch with many of his pals during sixth form.

While “my mum’s side are Persian and slightly aristocratic,” his father’s line is Scottish. Scobie insists that I refer to you as “Persian” instead of “Iranian,” since there is a significant distinction for Persians.

The family on my mother’s side is not Muslim and has no ties to Iran’s Islamic Republic. “British-Iranian author” was the opening line of the first Daily Mail article about the book, as I recall. “I see what’s happening here,” I thought to myself.

Scobie had lived in East London before, and as of 2023, she was renting a home in the Hollywood Hills.

With just his French Bulldog Yoshi for companionship, the 42-year-old claimed to be “hopelessly single” in an interview with The Times published in November 2023.
