In January 2020, Wilmer Valderrama became engaged to Amanda Pacheco, eleven years his junior.
On December 21, the couple announced they were expecting their first child; the daughter, Nakano Oceana, was born on February 15, 2021.
People state that the name was inspired by a trip the pair took to Japan.
Valderrama and Pacheco are yet to get married. Despite getting engaged at the start of 2020, they remain unmarried two years later.
They have not commented on the reason behind the gap, but it does not appear to be attributed to hiccups in their relationship.
The Latinx power couple initially kept their relationship low-key as Valderrama had just ended a six-year-long relationship with Demi Lovato.
However, on New Year’s Day of 2020, they surprised the world when they revealed their engagement after a short and relatively secretive dating period.
“‘It’s just us now’ 01-01-2020,” Valderrama captioned a photo of him proposing to Pacheco at a La Jolla beach in California.
Pacheco also had some sweet things to say. Taking to her Instagram story, she wrote a message to her late mother.
According to Extra, she wrote, “Every time I talk about him, I can see your giant smile light up in my mind, and I can hear your mischievous laugh like you knew he was going to come into my life and change it forever.”
She added that she had faith in everlasting love and marriage. She said she was terrified to start a family but could do it with “the most incredibly perfect life partner.”
