Who Is Clarence Thomas Mother, Leola Williams?

Clarence was born on June 23, 1948, in Pin Point, Georgia, to his parents, M. C. Thomas and Leola Williams.

His mother and grandparents raised him after his father left the family as a child.

His upbringing was marked by poverty. He was raised in a predominantly black community where many residents were descendants of enslaved people and spoke Gullah, a Creole language with African roots.

People were curious about his mother after the news that Leola was out.

According to a recent ProPublica investigation, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas failed to disclose financial ties to billionaire donor Harlan Crow, including selling three personal properties to Crow, one of which belonged to Thomas’ mother, Leola Williams.

Leola Williams, the mother of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, still resides in the home sold to Harlan Crow, according to an interview conducted by Joel Anderson for the upcoming season of Slow Burn.

The interview is set to be released on May 31 as part of Slow Burn: Becoming Justice Thomas.

Clarence Thomas Family Background And Ethnicity

Thomas’s family background is rooted in the African American community. He was born in Pin Point, Georgia, in 1948, and his family was descended from enslaved people.

Thomas’s maternal grandparents, Myers and Christine Anderson, helped raise him and his younger brother after their father left the family when Thomas was a young child. 

Thomas was raised with his younger brother Myers, and the two share a close bond and support each other.

In terms of ethnicity, Thomas is generally considered to be African American. While his ancestors were likely of African descent, he has not publicly discussed his genetic ancestry or any potential mixed heritage.

Clarence Thomas Wife 

Thomas has been married twice; he is married to Virginia Lamp Thomas. They were married in 1987 and have been together since then.

The couple does not share any children, and the information regarding their personal life has not been shared much. 

Virginia Lamp Thomas is a conservative activist and lobbyist in various political organizations and campaigns.

She was also the founder of Liberty Consulting, a political consulting firm that worked with conservative clients.

Before marrying Virginia, he married Kathy Ambush, with whom he had a son Jamal Adeen Thomas. His son is married and has a son. 

Although Kathy and Clarence were separated, he had a good bond with his son and grandson. The reason behind their divorce has not been disclosed.
