In addition to announcing a $100 million seed round with a $1 billion value, the company reported spending $600,000 of its first $10 million capital on Stable Diffusion training.
The Stability AI founder published an open letter in March 2023 requesting that “all AI labs immediately pause for at least six months the training of artificial intelligence systems more powerful than GPT-4.”
In his recent interview with BBC, Mostaque said AI would take over many human roles. He also said he could envision a scenario where an agent is more capable than a human, and humans can’t control them.
He questioned, “What if they crawled across the internet and achieved a level of automation; what does that mean?”
