His longest-known relationship was with Actress and singer Tatyana Ali. The two dated from 1995 to 1998, and the duo appeared in a People magazine article in July 1996.
Tatyana, now 45, bagged the role of Ashley Banks on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air at just 11. Her other famous parts included Jones on Love That Girl! and Roxanne on The Young and the Restless.

On that day, he was found hanging in the hallway of his Los Angeles apartment, located in the 600 block of Detroit Avenue.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department rushed him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but he died the following day due to injuries sustained from the hanging. Hospital staff pronounced him dead on November 12, 2003, at about 2:45 pm.
Jonathan did not leave any suicide notes. However, he had begun drinking heavily and said he wanted to kill himself.
Following his death, his friends reported that the Actor had been depressed about his dwindling career. He was also disappointed when his appearance in the 2002 film Hart’s War, expected to revive his career, was significantly cut.
In an interview with People, Jonathan’s Father, Gregory, said his son was brilliant, polite, and always easygoing. He also highlighted that he was probably bipolar.
However, he clarified that the death was not due to the entertainment industry. When he looked back, Jonathan showed signs of manic depression in his 20s.

Jonathan Gregory Brandis was born to his parents, Mary and Gregory Brandis, in Danbury, Connecticut, United States.
His mother, Mary, is a teacher and personal manager, whereas his Father, Gregory, is a food distributor and firefighter.
