On September 8, 2017, Kenneka Jenkins left the house by saying she was going out with her friends to her mother.
After borrowing her mother’s car, she and her three friends went to a party on the ninth floor of the Crown Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois.
After reaching the hotel, the friend shared live videos on Snapchat and Facebook during the party, showing the girls were unhappy.
The males aggressively flirted with the girls even after they were told to back off.
At 3 a.m., while leaving the party, Kenneka realized she had left her belongings, car keys, and the cellphone back in the room.
Later, all three friends went to retrieve Kenneka’s belongings from the party but left her alone to collect her things.
She was gone when they returned to where they had left Kenneka, making them panic and search for her.
Eventually, they called her mom and informed her they couldn’t find her daughter.
Moreover, they brought her mother to the hotel to continue searching, but she didn’t trust their story.
Furthermore, she asked the hotel’s front desk for help, asking to check the CCTV footage, but they refused to help.
At 7:15 a.m., Tereasa called 911 and informed about her missing daughter.
The next day, police officially reported Kenneka missing and began investigating.

Details On The Lawsuit Kenneka’s Family Filed Against The Hotel
Following the death of Kenneka in 2018, her family filed a $50 million lawsuit against the Crown Plaza.
The suit claimed the hotel was negligent for not securing the renovated freezer area properly.
Further, it also blamed the hotel for not doing anything to stop or end the party that had at least 30 people in a room of four occupants.
The lawsuit also asserted the staff members were negligent in not allowing Tereasa to view the security footage.
Nevertheless, after five years of legal battle, Kenneka’s mother reached a settlement of $10 million.
Out of the total amount, the family’s attorney received $3.5 million, and her funeral cost received a compensation of more than $6,000.
Meanwhile, the remaining $6.4 million was handed to Kenneka’s mother and two other relatives.
