In addition to being a partner of Chris Smith, Petara Cordero was also the mother of the footballer player.
Chris Smith also passed away on 17 April 2023. The death cause of the 31-year-old footballer remains confidential.

Petara Cordero, 26-year-old girlfriend of former NFL player Chris Smith died tragically on 11 September 2019.
It had been weeks after Cordero and Smith welcomed their baby girl, Haven Harris Smith, at the time of her death; she was killed in a car accident in Ohio.
The adorable pair had been dating for a long time and were parents to three kids. Petara and Chris were planning to tie the knot.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, Petara Cordero – an event ambassador for Topgolf – died on 11 September 2019 at around 2 am when Smith’s Lamborghini blew a tire and hit a median wall.
The accident took place along the West 140th Street exit. As the former couple exited the car, Cordero was struck by a Mazda driven by a lady. She was rushed to Fairview Hospital, where medical professionals declared her dead.
According to reports, the woman driving the Mazda had been drinking. Her alcohol level was measured at 0.08 percent.
Cleveland Browns published a statement on their website. “Words cannot describe the sorrow we feel for Chris following the death of his girlfriend, Petara,” the statement reads.
“Our organization mourns with Chris, his family, and the Cordero family. We will do all to provide them with support, comfort, and resources during this devastating time,” Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam wrote in a statement.

Chris Smith Said Petara Cordero’s In A Better Place
After losing his partner in a crash, Chris Smith dedicated an emotional message to honor Petara Cordero.
Along with snaps that showcased the pair’s precious time together, Smith said he didn’t understand why her girlfriend was taken from him, but he understands she’s in a better place.
“God has a plan for every single one of us that we can’t understand, but she is in a better place now, and she can rest easy,” he said, referring to Cordero as “my wifey, best friend, and the mother of my beautiful daughter.”
“Love you, baby,” he said, adding the hashtag “stay strong,” which appeared to reference Cordero’s tattoo on her chest.
Smith also disclosed on his Instagram Story that he and numerous of their loved ones had the exact words tattooed on them.
The Woman Who Killed Petara Cordero Was Not Charged
Authorities didn’t charge the woman who struck Petara Cordero. It has been revealed that she was not legally intoxicated or speeding when she hit Smith’s car.
Smith and his girlfriend were standing outside their vehicle when a passing 2017 Mazda 3 hit Cordero and the footballer’s Lamborghini’s open passenger-side door.
