He was 73 years old at the time of his demise. Even though he was sentenced to prison, he died at a medical center following health issues.

Robert Stroud was married to Della May Spore. She was a bird researcher from Indiana who helped Robert numerous times, and the duo developed a strong bond over a short period.

Even though the pair were happy with each other’s Company, his mother forcefully disapproved of the relationship, believing women were not helpful but trouble for her son, and moved away from the Leavenworth area.

Robert Stroud Noterioty; Know About His Biography And Pop Culture

Robert Stroud was a part of a book named Thomas E. Gaddis, Birdman of Alcatraz, in 1955. Later, it was portrayed in a film by Guy Trosper in 1962.

It was also staged by John Frankenheimer and starred Burt Lancaster as Stroud. Many famous people had portrayed the scene, but Stroud was never permitted to watch the movie.
