Learning from his own experience, he supports mental health nonprofit organizations raising awareness regarding these conditions.
Wil also struggled with alcohol addiction but announced in January 2021 that he had been sober for five years.
As an adult, Wil opened up about his childhood trauma. He described his dad as abusive to him as a kid and his mother as an enabler of the abuse.
The 51-year-old also stated that his parents forced him to become an Actor against his will, which led to multiple mental health issues. He started acting as early as seven years of age.
